The Stages of Digital transformation in Education

UNESCO has outlined four stages of digital transformation, providing a framework for countries and institutions to understand and navigate their journey towards digital integration in education. We have adopted this framework as a way of ensuring quality through our journey with our partner schools. Below is are the details on the journey.

Awareness Stage

This is the entry point into digital education, where our partner schools  begin to explore the use of technology by giving the learners 1 hour daily  of quality access to smart learning facilitated by their teacher.

Application

This stage focuses on systematic integration of ICT into education, with a clearer vision and strategy in place. Schools become more intentional about how technology is used to support learning outcomes.

Infusion

In the infusion stage, technology becomes a core component of education systems rather than just an optional tool. This phase emphasizes how pedagogy drives the use of digital tools.

Transformation

At this stage, technology drives innovative educational models and helps reimagine traditional teaching and learning practices. The goal is to cultivate lifelong learning, creativity, and inclusion within digital ecosystems

" The technology itself is not transformative. It’s the school, the pedagogy, that is transformative. "
– Tanya Byron

The Awareness Stage

A peep at some distant orb has power to raise and purify our thoughts like a strain of sacred music, or a noble picture, or a passage from the grander poets. It always does one good.
